Arisaka type 38 stuck bolt

I removed the bolt like I've done numerous times and when I inserted it back in it became stuck with the handle in the up position. It won't rotate or back out. I removed the bolt release assembly and the trigger and still something is catching. I've studied the schematic of the bolt and disassembly procedure but I can't get the safety knob to rotate. I don't know what more to do. I've looked everything over a hundred times trying to figure out what the hang up is. It looks as though the firing pin is still cocked. I hope it's fixable because the metal all looks like new with intact mum and it's not a re blue. Thank you in advance.

NEVERMIND! After sleeping on it, comparing the stuck carbine to a type 38 rifle with it's bolt open, the application of the tip of a pair of scissors no less, I got it out. Matched up the safety knob like the one on the rifle, returned the extractor to where it belonged, reinserted it and , walla, it functions as it should. Whew!

[:)] Yep, I once had a collection of Arisakas, quite simple design but when the knob release is down and you have a moment of wth.

    RB,
Wish I had better luck with posting pics but if you're interested in such things let me know I can send you a close up of a badly melted, mishapen case head with a primer pocket about twice normal size. Tried to blow up a 38 but failed.
