bought two stainless mags yesterday at a gun show. they are marked on the bottom with the colt horse emblem the word COLT and 45 AUTO. they also have the letters M and S on the bottom. they hold 7 rounds but are 3/4 of a inch shorter than a 1911 mag and wont fit my commanders. any idea on what they may fit.

Colt makes/made?, a short barreled 45, That they sold under the names Defender/Agent. (Don't know the difference between the two?) The short grip(s), took a 7 round mag.

And even before that, they made the short butt OACP.
Your magazines are for that series of pistols.
The "M" means that they were made for Colt by Metalform, the "S" for Stainless.

Don't know, what the OACP Model is? But if it's one of the Officers Model(s). It's a different 6 shot mag. I wasn't even aware, that Colt made a intermediate height 7 shot frame. Until recently.
