A friend has bought a 1909 Argentine Mauser that looks like the sporterized ones that you could buy mail order in the late 50's.Most of the work was pretty well done, but the stock is ugly and the trigger is terrible. Is this a 98? Large ring or small? Thanks

I have a 1909 Argentine Mauser chambered in 270 Win. Will any Mauser
bolt beside an '09 work in this set-up?

According to "Mauser Military Rifles of the World". Was same, same, as the German G 98. Except for minor changes, requested by Argentina. The bolt wasn't one of them.

Obviously there are no absolutes, in the world. But my WAG is that any 98 bolt will fit, in a 1909 Argentine. Correct headspace is another matter?
