I saw a very nice hammer gun, 10 gauge, damascus, circa 1890 ish. Does anyone have any information who would have made them for Daley.

Carder's book, "Side by Sides of the World". Has a write up, on Charles Daly.

Nothing specific on the early guns as far as manufactures are concerned. "European gun makers", is what he says. "Shiller and Charles Lindner", from Germany. "Tolley", from England. "Newmann", from Belgium.

Check the Water Table, and underside of the barrels, for proof marks. This at least, would help to identify country of origin. Before 1891, there was no U.S. legal requirement, for country of origin markings.
