What are you going to use it for? Home defense, concealed carry, target shooting? How much do you want to spend? No one can give you an opinion without an answer to these questions.

There are a lot of good 9mm out there for that price. From my personal experience the most accurate 9mm that I own is the Browning Hi Power. I used mine to pass my ccw permit and shot 100% on the test. My business partner also used it to pass his ccw permit in NC and passed easily. This is one of those rare guns that anyone can shoot very well right away. I saw a friend of mine shoot a business card hitting it 5 out of 6 at 40 ft and he didn't even test fire it. Someone that was serious into target shooting could make that into a tack driver. My second most accurate is believe it or not a Taurus 99af. I found it in a pawn shop and it shoots great. At the gun range at about 20-25ft it will stay inside a target about the size of a CD disk. If I got a trigger job on it I think it will do even better. I also own a Sig 225 that is more accurate than I am and a S&W 39-2 that is also very accurate. One of the most accurate guns I ever shot although I don't care for them was a Glock 17. So you see there is a lot of accurate 9mm out there. Good Luck and hope this helps.

This is one of those questions that gets some very varied opinions. There are a number of excellent pistols out there for $700 or less.My first thought is to find a range that will let you shoot a lot of different guns!!If you are looking for a pure target gun and do not need or want a double action figure, I would look towards a custom 1911 type in 9mm. Or maybe a Browning high power. If you are leaning towards a double action auto. Sig Sauer seems to be the most accurate, Model 226 or 228 or their long slide version. Again very subjective and subject to individual preferences.I have found that glocks are poor choices for target shooting, the balance and big sites are meant for combat.Paul

I recently bought the 92FS. I've shot it at the range a few times and used it to qualify for IPSC this past weekend. I find that it is very easy to shoot, accurate and reliable. This is my 4th handgun and 2nd 9mm so I'm not exactly an expert, but I like the Beretta a lot. I read reviews of the comparable Tauras (92a???) which were very favorable.

I love Rugers, but to answer your question I would say the early Belgian made Browning Hi-Powers.

I own and shoot several 9mm pistols and my favorite, easiest to shoot and most accurate is the Sig P226. It hits where you point and is very reliable.

I have several semi-auto pistols and my favorite of all of them is the Browning Hi-Power. It is an old military model and I bought it in the 60's for 50 bucks! If you do buy one I would look for an older belgium made with the nice blue finish and fixed sights...

I love Browning HP's, and use them for IDPA and self defense, but I would hesitate using them for a 'target' gun.The older ones do not hold being accurarized well due to the softness of the steel that was used. I have been told the more recent ones may due well as Browing changed to a harder steel, but haven't heard of anyone's success accurizing them. While they do well at the service pistol level, trying to go much beyond that may be a futile effort.

I guess I'll give my 2 cents as well. I have a Sig P226 and I love it. It's a hell of a lot more accurate than I am. The prices keep going up, but they can be had for $600-$650 if you look hard enough.-Marcus

I think the best option for you would be the Glock 34 9mm, just look it up and you'll probably fall in love with it.

I would have to say the P-38 is a bleetin good 9mm. While not the most modern, the P-38 is like a classic car. Also the beretta 92F? i believe, would be my 9mm of choice.
