Does anyone know if this email that is circulating about a $50 tax on all guns that are registered to you is real or rumor. It also says you will have to report all guns that you own on your income tax return.

I looked SB 2099 up about a year ago and it had no support and the way I read it was not on the table it was under it. The Republicans would love to have all the gun owners in the districts with moderate Democrats running to beleive it is going to happen just prior to the mid-trems.

This one made the rounds all of last year, or at least up until 15 April when most Americans filed their tax returns, and looks like it is getting an early start for 2011.
