From what I was told these rifles are Israeli Defense Force sniper rifles from Springfield Armory.I guess SA bought them then rebuilt them. All USGI parts except the reciever. The synthectic stock has a check piece built into it so you can get the proper alignment with the nimrod scope and the night vision scope. The guy has both but out of my price range.

The price is good. Very good. Too good!

Make certain that Sprg. INC, performed the assembly from the IDF parts that were imported. I can remember IDF surplus guns (sans receiver) coming into the US market as parts kits.

You may not wish to acquire a firearm with who did the assembly as an unknown. Your call.

E-mail me for contact info if you wish to verify with the manufacturer. Best, Joe

    EDIT
Received E-mail. Glad you're 'good to go' with this! Good luck! Joe

Yours is the second new M1A I have seen for the money you should be buying it. The other M1A is a loaded with synthetic stock for 1350.00 in the box not fired. 1700.00 is a good price for Gunbroker, I find better deals local.

These are all from a small lot of M14 rifles which we gave to our stooges in Israel who modified them into sniper rifles. When our Jewish puppet state declared them obsolete Springfield Armory bought the lot, stripped off the parts, and then built up new rifles using their own M1A receivers. The original barrels were pretty well shot out so new NM commercial barrels were fitted and since the 1994 Crime Bill was still in force there is no bayonet lug under teh flash hider.

There were two variations of the rifle:

MA9771 IDF Rifle with sniper scope and "Loaded Coupon"..$1595 dealer and $1875 MSRP

MA9781 IDF Rifle with night vision scope and "Loaded Coupon"
    $1895 dealer and $2229 MSRP

There should be optics and a mount with teh rifle. Very few of the night vision rifles were ever sold (it was old second generation equipment)and the vast majority came with a 6X40 Nimrod scope and a special mount made by the IDF. Frankly the Nimrod scopes are not spectacular optics but the mounts are unusual and quite collectible. For optics you'll do better with a ARMS mount and top quality glass of your own choosing. It is an interesting M1A variation and at $1400 it is not much more expensive than the current standard grade M1A.

mine is the MA9781 however I did not get the mount or optics, the seller did state I could buy them from him, however I think I will pass.He also must have bought a few of each because he said he had a few of the NV and the Nimrod's.

Yours is the 2nd one I've heard of.
    Here's a link to the 1st.

I have to wonder how much that stock alone would go for.
Figure I just recently paid $1600 for a brand new M1A. $1400, I would probably jump on. See a few older ones elsewhere for a grand.
