Davide Pedersoli muzzleloading pellet gun?

I just got the Cabelas Christmas catalog and in it is a Pedersoli muzzleloading pellet gun that is powered by a 209 primer. What kind of velocity would a 209 primer push a .177 caliber pellet? Would it be effective on small rodents, squirrels?

(the gun uses no powder, only the primer for propulsion)

The model is the Hawk rifle and is listed on the website.

I have an insert barrel for a 1911 that uses Brass cartridges with a large pistol primer for power to a 177 pellet Never chronographed but it will blow the nose off of match grade flat nosed pellets and leave just the shirt in the bore but with pointed nose pellets it will punch a hole completely through a Squirrel.

To answer your question, I seen the reviews, and they like to blow the skirts off the regular wasp waistband type pellets. However, there are many different types of pellets, that would work. Yes, it could be heck on wheels for small varmingt and rodent's, as well as some larger ones.

It also begs the question of why not drop in a few grains of blackpowder IF you want even more power? That would make it pretty much the same as all of the other modern inline blackpowder rifles out there. Just wondering.
