How much trouble is it to convert a Remington model 17 20ga barrel to fit on the older style (below serial 855,000) Ithaca 37 20ga frame?

while the are both J.M. Browning designs they are two distinct shotguns by 2 different manf. imo not worth the effort and $$$

The only questions I've seen have been about going the other way. Considering that Rem 17 barrels are much more difficult to find than Ithaca, I'd think you could find an original Ithaca. I can't remember the exact detail but the threads are close but not identical. I have one of each model and at some point I'm sure I tried switching(inveterate tinkerer)but it didn't work w/o some modification which I wasn't interested in doing.
