Remove black residue on stainless

I get alot of black residue in the flutes on the stainless guns I have. What is the easy way to clean this.

I tend to view it a blued chrome on Harley pipes and leave it alone. There are treated cloths that do a nice job.

Flitz or bronze wool with a little oil. I would start with fine grade bronze wool.

Bore Tech Carbon Remover is my go-to.
Hoppe's M-Pro 9 also works well.

I would try Flitz, as suggested earlier, with a cotton or shop towel patch. It is my go-to for fiberglass stock oxidation and it usually works and without scratching the metal.

A clean patch and some Hoppe's #9? (or any other powder solvent you have on hand)
