What's the difference in PolyTech and most any other ak47?

None, except they also produced some having machined receivers.

V35, well take a look at this auction. It doesn't even look like a Mak-90. Norinco(PolyTech) AK47 Hunter Item #2407110 Thanks NV.[This message has been edited by namvet (edited 11-12-2001).][This message has been edited by namvet (edited 11-12-2001).]

It is just the standard AK hunter series rifle. They have the milled receiver, take standard AK mags, have the sight on the top cover instead of above the chamber. There is no top wood on the gas tube and the tube itself is longer than a standard one. Some, but not all of these came pre-drilled on the left side for a scope mount assembly (no it is not the same as the Romanian or Russian system). Their basic internals are the same as the standard AK's with Milled receivers, except the trigger. The advantage of these was the longer barrel and the traditional rifle style stock. They were somewhat patterned after the Valmet Hunter series of rifle from Finland, but not nearly as refined. The major drawback to these was stock parts availability. If you break or crack the stock or forearm a replacement is nearly impossible. They also used a swept back trigger to reach further back on the gun to accomodate the different stock system. Overall a nice gun, this one in the auction looks a bit used, but I'm sure it will be ready for more.

lrarmsx, thank you again! So when you say standard mags, does this mean it won't take hi cap, double stacks? Regards, JR.
