From what I can see in the Numrich catalog, it's the type of grip frame used. They have the mag. for the A100 grip frame for $16.60. They have the mag. assbly for the pre A100 Unstamped grip frame for $9.95. They do not seem to have the mag. shell for the pre A100. Looks like you'll have to see if your frame is stamped A100. Hope this helps. Their phone no. is 845-679-4867. I just noticed you have their no.. Might as well order a catalog while you're at it. [This message has been edited by oneshy (edited 11-12-2001).]

Depending on the age of the Mark I, the button may be on the opposite side. That is an easy fix. Bring the follower all the way down the side of the mag to the opening near the bottom. Hold the follower in this position with a pen or a nail, whatever. Pull the pin out and put it back in from the other side. Then let the follower back up.I have seen people use MKII mags in the their MKI, but there is a specific mag for them. The Ruger factory designations are M-10 for MKII, and for the MKI it used to be AMC, now it is M-9. The AMC had the silver metal bottom, the M-9 has a silver plastic bottom. The M-9 is basically identical to the M-10 with the black plastic bottom. The plastic bottoms will have the Ruger logo in them. If you can't get the right mag, let me know they are available, no problem.

The early Mark I pistols have a magazine with a slot only on the right side so the magazine button cannot be switched to the left side. However, as stated, a Mark II magazine may have the button switched from side to side as necessary.
