Enfield Revolver No. 2 **

I recently purchased an Enfield pistol at an auction. This particular one has the barrel cutdown, making it a snub nose. This is not the first time I have seen this, so I know it wasn't done by someone privately. If anyone has any information on why and when this was done to Enfield pistols, I would appreciate hearing from them. This pistol also has numerous markings such as BNP and FTR, which I understand, but also things like S.T.P. 41, Crown over crossed swords with numbers, lower case T, and an arrow with two circles side by side at the base. Any help would be appreciated. thanks.
