Hi All, I recently acquired this piece at an auction. It's in good-very good condition, bore slightly rough, some small surface scratches in the finish; no pitting, a small crack in grip on one side. In perfect operating condition.Any idea what it's worth? Thanks in advance for any info

CORRECTION - Not a 1903 - 1900 - has barrel threaded into frame, with recoil spring on top frame similar in style to the 1903 Colt I think the 1903 changed radically, with the more conventional floating barrel as modern autos have.

I am way out of my element here, I can handle most shotgun stuff and black powder stuff, but no one else stepped up to the plate, I am going to take a swing at it.Are you telling me that it is chambered in 7.62 with a 4 inch barrel, or 9mm Browning Long (like the Browing - Swedish contract stuff) with a 5 inch barrel?????

Thanks for the reply - I found a writeup on it in an old NRA guide to firearms assembly they call it a 'Browning 1900' - the gun fires .32acp (also a JM Browning development) - was first manufactured 1899 by Fabrique Nationale, half a million produced by 1909 - discontinued 1212 when the model 1910 came out - looks very much like the early colt auto pistols of the same caliber, but I've seen a lot of those around, I've been looking for another one of these Brownings and have yet to see one - a dealer at the local gun show offered $125.00 for it, but I just laughed at him. I think any well made firearm that is this old and still works perfectly has got to be worth more than that, and I'm not really interested in selling anyway, just like to know how good a deal I got!

Check her over and see what her serial number is. If she is 10,000 or under, she is actually an 1899. In which case you have at least a $400 gun. If the serial number is above 10,000, then she is a 1900. She is worth more than $125 but not a lot -- UNLESS -- she has the cross rifles marking, in which case, she is worth at least $500.

Picked up one of those a while back, sold it through gunbroker, got about $300.00 for it. Mine was nickel plated with simulated ivory grips in at least good condition. Try looking up the user name "FNCONNECTICUT", he was the winning bidder and seemed very knowledgable reference these pistols.

I stand corrected. I saw one at the gun show today in Jacksonville, Florida. The dealer can down to $225, as he was in hopes that I was going to buy it AND the TC Contender in 222.I didn't - only the TC, but now I know you have at least a $225 gun.
