Looking at a nice little 22 Revolver, at local gun shop.On the side of the frame, it reads:TAURUS-ULTRA LITE NINEThis is a nine shot, 22LR, 2" barrel, satin stainless, w/Pachmayer grips (Taurus Medallion). Is this a model 9?I can't find it in Blue-Book.Or is it a variation of the Model 94?It is a 100%, without box. What's it worth.ThanksSUPPORT THE NRA

Generally speaking, I like Taurus handguns. I have sold and serviced quite a few, and own a Mod. 96 .22 revolver. I think, generally again, that they are well made and a good value for the money. However, I'd recommend that you stay away from the one you're looking at. I had one in the shop for an action job, in the course of which it was necessary to remove and replace the sideplate several times. The frame was aluminum alloy and the sideplate screws were steel, and upon the fourth removal the thread in the aluminum holes came out in the threads of two of the steel screws. This was a difficult problem to fix. Go all steel or stainless steel--the Taurus Brand being O.K.
