9mm auto advise?

I want to get a small (smallest possible) 9mm semi-auto pistol for CCW. What would you be looking at? $$ is not the issue here. Pros? Cons? I sure would appreciate some advise before buying.

Some people like the glock 26. I find it too thick in the grip for my small hands. I like the kahr series and the Sig 239. Both of these are single stacks but feel better to me. All are good guns. It's really all in what you like. My advice is to go to a shooting range and rent different guns to try for yourself.

I have made many posts regarding this issue, and my recommendation for the smallest and lightest 9x19 with the most magazine capacity is the Kel-Tec P11. They are generally reliable, and, if you get one that is not, Kel-Tec customer service is first rate. Go to the Kel-Tec owners group web site (KTOG.org) and read the posts. You will learn the experiences of many owners. In my opinion, I feel that the Kel-Tec is inexpensive, not cheap. Out of all guns available at any price in its size range, I choose to carry the P11. I carry a S&W 15-round magazine as a spare for the P11. That gives you 26-rounds in a very compact package.

Many thanks, all. My local dealer advises against the Kel-Tec based on long-term quality issues. Does he have a point? The Glock 26 seems a little bit long (7") as a CCW weapon??? I hope to buy on Monday! Still looking for advise!

kel-tecs are nice ( i have a 32 ) but they sure dont look like they are built to last....jmho....i am currently looking for something similar to what you are searching for......i have narrowed my field down to either a walther ppk (.380) - little less power but a damn nice gun imho, or the very popular and cheap Makarov PA-63 i believe it was....9mm Mak ( 9 x 18 ).. more power then the .380, little less then the 9mm ( 9x19 )......not sure which direction to head just yet.

I think the Glock 26 or 27is the best for the size as far as quality. If you want something like a pocket pistol you may have to go to 380 0r 32ACP. The Seecamp 32 was all the rage when it first came out and since they built a limited no. they got real expensive. That seems to have cooled down some and they may be cheaper. At any rate you can order one, but there was a long waiting list a couple of years ago. I have the Beretta 32ACP and it fits in my back pocket like a wallet. The Kahr 9 is a good choice, but I'm not sure as to it's dimensions. Gun Test Mag. considered the Kel-Tec as unreliable, but liked the Taurus PT111

I agree that the Kel-Tec may not be a 50,000 round gun, but, who cares? Throw it away when it is worn out and buy another, or replace the worn out parts. However, as you will see on the KTOG web site, some owners do have very high round counts through their pistols and they are still going strong. Compared to a PPK, the P11 is smaller, lighter, much more powerful, and kicks about the same because of the locked breech. In its size and power category, the P11 is the only choice for me. If you like Glocks, the Baby Glocks certainly they are excellent choices, although they are heavier than the P11. I do not like the grip angle or the short trigger pull for a pocket pistol.

Try the Kahr 9 or P9 or covert model.

I have a Kel-Tec P-11 and I have fired about 3,000 rounds through it. I have never had a jam or mis-fire, have never altered it in any way except to polish the feed ramp (which I do with all of my autos. I also have an early Glock 17 that has never had a problem, but the Kel-Tec will shoot circles around the glock as far as accuracy is concerned. I do stake my life on the Kel-Tec on a daily basis. It is light weight and easily concealable. I carry in a ankle holster due to the nature of my work. Mine must be concealed.

If price is not an issue and you don't like DAO pistols, then get a HK P7M8.
