I just aquired a Riverside Arms 12-gauge double-barrel side by side. It has two external hammers which fire the shells.Other than the markings "Riverside Arms Co, Chicopee Falls, Mass. USA", it also is marked "Pat. Feb. 10, 1914".Any information on this shotgun or Riverside Arms Co. would be greatly appreciated.

Riverside Arms Company was a trade name used on various firearms produced by J. Stevens Arms and Tool Company.Mainly they are "utility" firearms, in their day they were fairly inexpensive but well built. They have no real collector following.

I also have an old riverside arms shotgun apears to be the same gun that you have. I asked the same question here some time ago. I thought I was told that savage made the gun but could be wrong.I was also told that the gun was worth around 300.00 Maybe this will help. Gerald
