long time no see. i was in a very bad truck accident/long hospital stay, in phys. therp. now. OK though, worst part is i'm going to miss deer & quail season, sucks. QUESTION:as w/most of us i'm gun poor! i have a MAUSER HSC MOD. 80 produced by GAMBA of ITALY. looked all thru my gun digests, & the holy blue book...and can't seem to find an exact match. gun is .380 cal. w/10 shot mag + 1. each time i think i have found a match....there is a slight diff. as,...the ones i find have 7-8-13 round mags, not 10 like mine (my mag is not double stacked). it's not one of the "1-5000" know that for sure. bore is as bright as any chrome bore firearms i own, from all fire indicaters gun has been fired very little. blued finish is NOT smooth, rather a "textured" finish, gun has NOT been redone. walnut stipled grips w/gold medallions inlayed on both grips. little if any "holster" wear, i'd say gun is 95%+ overall, w/ perfect bore. what the hell exactly is it that i have? i sold a GLOCK after shooting a friends CZ 100 .40, whata gun! (my thoughts) 2" groups @ 25yds. w/gun in myhand the first time. Anyway..looking to sell the mauser to pick up the CZ 100 .40 w/nightsights, but would like to know what to ask for mauser. do not care to beat myself, nor someone else on the price, butneed to know a good selling price for the mauser. any help would be appreciated, good to be back!

I hate to see you slide off the board without an answer. Usually when I answer one of these "toughies" and kick it back up to the top of the board there will be 5 more answers; and usually a correct one that exceeds my knowledge. That having been said, I've checked all my catalogs from 1983-85 (the same sources you named plus a few) and pose the following possibility to you: All the sources agree that the HSC was produced by Gamba in Italy during that time period and imported; then discontinued when Gamba fell on hard times. Could it be that only your magazine is unique? Perhaps it is an improvement or an after-market, and the pistol itself is a standard gun? Somehow someone figured out how to put 8 rounds in a 7 round 1911 magazine in the last few years. Just a thought.

Thanks Der-Geb. The Mauser was a backup to the Glock I sold to buy the CZ 100, & as stated can't find quite the gun anywhere to price it as to be fair to myself & buyer. I know it SAYS mdl. 80, but the fact that in single stack the damn mag holds 10 rounds! So was trying to find out all I could before pricing it, & I think I'm prob. there! For condition overall I think I know what I'll price it @ now. Thanks again, be safe out there.....
