I recently picked up an Iver Johnson champion shotgun in what appears to be 32 ga.,although the barrel is not marked as such.It is marked 14 mm.I understand in Europe the 32 ga. is known as the 14mm shotshellWere the early Iver's marked 14 mm instead of 32 ga?Or,do i have a gun chambered for something completely different? I cannot find any centerfire cartridge listed as 14mm other than a 32 ga. shotshell. I have some 32 ga. shells on orderbut have not received them yet so,i can't tell if they will chamber. Old SS

    Old SS,

My Blue Book shows the IJ Champion was "also available in .44,
.45, 12mm, or 14mm rifle calibers". Other than that, I do not know.

Don't send flowers when I die. Send money now, I can buy more ammo.

the 12mm, and 14mm markings on your champion is not a rifle caliber
,do not try to fire anything but shotshells, usually they refer to the choke. 12mm on a .410 bore means full and 14mm on .32 gauge also means full choke.

iver johnson chambered the champion for a .44 caliber shotshell but i have never seen one marked for a .45 shotshell.
