I have been looking at handguns. Just want a gun to plink with maybe carry in the glove box on long extended trips. Was looking at 380's and kind of liked the feel of the bersa for the $225 price range. Any negatives about this gun. What do you all think. Thanks for your time

I've had one for two years now. Don't do a lot of shooting with it, but can get good groups at 15 yards and the gun has never jammed. You can probably beat that price, I have seen them in the $190 range, that's what I paid.

Very good guns, especially for the price. I have two, an older model 383 and a newer Thunder .380. Both have been excellent guns. Used price around here is $190 asking, $150 take. New , $225 asking, $190 take. You won't be sorry.

Bersa's are very under rated. I've used one for several years and also carry a Sig 230. While I have had the Sig stovepipe a few rounds, I have never had any malfunctions with the Bersa. The craftsmanship on the Sig is better, but the Bersa has sometimes out grouped it in performance. The Sig was +$400, the Bersa was ~$225. Go figure!

At the range last Saturday. Was shooting my old Colt Woodsman.
A lady w/ Bersa M-83, I believe, .380, had the slide come loose
and lost an eye. I can not believe that Bersa makes a decent arm.
Cut it and send the No. to the ATF. My $00.02. Steve

A very good friend bought a Bersa Thunder on sale. It is a good looking gun. I was particularly fond of the decocker. He brought it over to the range and at 15yrds you could not hit a gallon milk jug. WE give it another good cleaning and tried again with the same results. He wanted to send it back, I done a little research and found out it was imported by Eagle Grips inc. He made arrangements and sent it to them. They promptly replaced the barrel and sent his gun back. He said it now shoots as expected then some.

Thank you everyone for your imput. Sounds like everyone has positive feedback except the one sad story about the lady at the range. I was at the range once and a guy had a browning blow up in his face. I don't think I would refuse buying a browning forever because of one incident. As long as there isn't a negative trend the bersa sounds like a decent deal. Thanks again to everyone.

Has anybody noticed the only negative feedback you see on the Bersa is what happened to someone else. I.e. a friend had one and he hated it but no specifics why. As for being injured at the range, the owner of the range I go to was shot in the stomach when placing a glock in it's original shipping box. You know the one with the dowel in the middle that goes in the trigger guard. All the Bers owners love theirs, as I do mine. Over 500 rds. not a single misfeed of any sort with either cheap or expensive ammo. And with the Corbon 380 +p you get enough power to take care of business.

A 380 on you is better than a 45 in the truck.
