I have been thinking on adding a double rifle to my collection.
Which is better/ an over and under, or side by side?
Im looking into the blazer line, or maybe a kreighoff, 30/06 is what im buying.

Also, I have 2 colt sharps single shots and am looking for a similar single rifle with nice wood, has anyone had an expierence with the rugers or browning single shots?

I think the SxS LOOKS better and more traditional. Its only technical advantage is the smaller "gape" for reloading. But that only applies to a traditional action with iron sights. The picture of the guy trying to thread two cartridges under the Blaser scope and funny hooded breech is not encouraging.

The O/U is theoretically stronger with the bottom barrel buried in the receiver and has been claimed to be easier for the maker to regulate. I think it looks less funky when scoped.

I have a Browning (now under Winchester trademark) 1885 BPCR .40-65 that is a great shooter. You are going to have to shop around for good wood, though; many of the Brownings (and Rugers) I have seen were pretty plain. If you want nice wood, order a Shiloh Sharps with stock wood and finish upgrades.

Take a look at least . The Valmet 412/512 come in double rifle up to a 375 H&H class with the 9.3 X 74 R a real thumper and I think down to 243 Winchester or 223. The great thing when compared with all other Double rifles that I know about is "you the owner can adjust so that POINT OF IMPACT will be the same" at what ever distance you choose can readjust if you go to different loading. also comes ready to mount scope or use the Iron Sights. Then you can switch barrels to O/U shot barrels and even one shot one rifle barrel. Best Hunting Firearm I have ever owned. Also try the newly made Remington Hepburn this guy does great work. Cheers Karl.

Double rifles have always been a dream of mine, and it appears will remain so. That said, I have owned several Ruger No. 1's and a No.3. Great rifles in my experience. Some report issues with stringing but I had a .270 that would consistently keep 5 rounds inside an inch and on a couple of occasions hit right around 5/8 at 100 yards. Some still have very nice wood; others very ordinary.

    MH,
Why not pick up another CS?? What caliber are you looking for, 06 as well? Ruger #1 won't come close to the CS.
