German Model 98 bnz43 single rune

I just looked this rifle over more carefully and it looks like
there is a single rune on the barrel. Is that possible.

    There is a book written specifically about 98 K rifles. "Backbone of the Wehrmacht".

    It has quite a bit, on "Single Rune", 98 K's.

    Your rifle has a higher serial number than those mentioned in the book, (8,233). The author notes, that the markings on the "Single Rune" 98 K's,were not standard. And there were many variations. He goes into quite a bit of detail. Regarding this.

    You really need to post some good pic's. Consider investing a few $ with someone local that can do the job. If you plan to sell or insure it you will likely need them anyway. Yahoo's Flickr still has free hosting. Look on the auction side for examples of good pic's that would inspire you to bid/buy vs. keep on scrolling .
