    I just bought a Marlin 795. It's a semi-auto in .22LR. Works great. Gave $100 bucks brand new at Academy.-Marcus

If you are considering a semi in 22lr I suggest you look into the Ruger 10/22. It goes for somewhere in the vicinity of $150+ at your local wallmart, sometimes a lot less at some gun stores. It is very reliable and one advantage of this particular rifle is the abundance of aftermarket parts. If youre like most of us, somewhere along the line you will get tired of a plain jane 22 and will want to "personalize" it with custom parts. Bull barrels and stock combos can be had at $100 if you know where to look. Surely a lot of other members will agree with the 10/22good hunting,-Smooth

Dear Green,The 10/22 for sure. Will end up being the most fun you can have with your clothes on!

I bought a 10/22 back in the early 80s and sold it. Mistake, so I bought another one in the late 80s and wont be without one again, I reccommend you to try it. Its the best 22 semi auto ever made in my opinion, and previous comments made in this forum hold true, take our advice and you wont be disappointed.

I just bought a Marlin 882SS in 22 mag from Walmart. Gave $188 for it. It is stainless with a synthetic stock and has the feel of a "full size" rifle. It looks good...and shoots right where it's aimed, which in my case is sometimes not so good. I live in the country where the 22 mag comes in real handy. If you would like a 22 in magnum caliber, I recommend the Marlin 882SS.
