colt 45 national match

A friend of mine is trying to figure out what his colt 45 national match is worth. I haven't seen this piece, but I am sure the condition is excellent. Serial # 34xx NM. If someone could give me some kind of idea, it would sure be appreciated. Thanks!Teach your children well. Teach them often.

    Actually the big money belongs to the pre-WW2 National Match pistols which were numbered in the standard commercial series (C prefix). This gun here is 1958. You will see these guns advertised in top condition at $1450 or so, but I would bet that twelve one-hundred dollar bills would buy any of them. Condition is everything, and on National Match or Gold Cup pistols, the box and papers mean a lot, too.
