I've heard some negative things about this ammo on here, and since I just bought 500 rounds for $11.45, I wanted to get the scoop so I'll know whether or not to buy it again.So....whats the bottom line? Is it inaccurate, dirty, dangerous, or just poor overall?

It's good ammo for the price & shoots good in some guns but if it doesn't perform well in your gun it's worthless. Try it & other brands in your guns to see which shoots the best.

Whaddya mean it doesnt have sufficient power to operate some autoloaders?! I'm starting to get pretty nervous here. Please tell me everything you know, SaxonPig. I've got a H&R Leatherneck .22LR autoloader.

It operates a 10-22 just fine. But it is junk, you don't need a chronograph to HEAR the difference in the power cartridge-to-cartridge. Fine for messing around with tin cans, I would never hunt with it. Price seems high, last brick I bought was $7.99. It's just cheap shoot-it-up stuff. Blazers are about the same price, but more consistant. If you're hunting or serious target shooting, buy top of the line stuff, and see what your gun shoots best. There is a surprising difference from gun to gun. My 10-22 likes old Winchester Super-X stuff, other guns like other stuff, my revolvers both like CCI Mini-Mags.....I could go on, but you get the drift.

Years ago, I bought a very large quantity of Thunderbolt and have used it for plinking ever since. It has operated all of my self-loaders without fail, including Ruger pistols. It could be my older stuff is better than current, but I have been satisfied with it for plinking. The price paid seems very high. Look for specials at discounters and stock up.

I bought a very large quantity of Thunderbolt over 10 years ago. Maybe that's why it shoots good with my guns. I've not tried any new manufactured stuff.

I have given my Ruger MK I a steady diet of thunderbolts for plinking, no problem other than extra cleaning. I think that is necessary as they do shoot dirty.

Like I said in another post, I quit selling the stuff because too many times the bullets didn't leave the barrel of my pistol. My customers and I have had a lot of bad experiences with remington ammo produced in the Arkansas plant, so I just don't deal with it. Remington did us good as far as refunds and all, but I caution users to make sure the bullet has left the barrel. Once I fired a round that hit the bull at 25 yds and the next one hit the ground 20 yards from the muzzle and the third never left the barrel. Had I not checked it out I could have blown the gun to hell and back !!

like others who have posted, I bought about 10 bricks @ $7/per, and have been completely satisfied with the stuff. I don't expect it to be Green Tag or Eley, but it works fine on bowling pins inside 100 yards. Never had a misfire, squib, or split with it.Bullseye- the bolt and recoil spring on your H & R are quite heavy, so stick with good quality high-velocity ammo. Tbolt is high-vel, but if there is as much variation in shot-to-shot velocity as Saxon has seen, you may experience occaisional failures to fully cycle the action. I have not noticed any problems using Tbolt in any of my autoloaders.
