my son just bought a 10-.22 [wally world] that is giveing him trouble ejecting the spent brass. two or three out of every load will remain in the action. the brass that is ejected are thrown all over the place. foreward almost even with the barrel to slightly to the rear. the bolt is traveling to the rear to pick up and trying to chamber a new round when it fails to eject. this happens with all the ammo we have tried.[different brands and types. ???[?]

Not being very steady, I can put them in a quarter size pattern at 50 yards.[This message has been edited by jeenyes (edited 11-25-2001).]

i agree with the above.....if you are a good shot....then the 10/22 wont fail you......my friends have bet me up to $10 that i couldn't pierce a quarter (smack in the middle) at 50 yards on the first shot....(i have made about $35 on that little baby, out of the box too)

Try the new Magnum version and actually PIERCE that quarter! You might have to replace the bullet with the SS109 projectile and aim a little higher,....

Kadaver- Let's see now, $10 bets and you have won $35? Maybe you just nicked the edge of one of those quarters? Just kidding, I'm not doubting you at all. Personally, I have never owned or even shot a Ruger of any kind that didn't shoot well. Maybe I've just been lucky, but I think it's more likely that Ruger does things right most of the time.

When I finish plinking with my stainless steel, laminated stock Ruger 10/22 I shoot the thumb tacks through the paper and let it fall in the trash box below. At 50 yards the rifle is very accurate.

In case you were unaware Jack Lord of -hot Shot "BOOk 'em DANO" fame is anti gun....he's not on your side, maybe your Danny and your nickname is Dano,I don't know ,but in case of the former I thought I'd share the info,----Chaser
