Here's something Leupold needs to work on; their defination of "made right, made here/made in the USA".Just what does that mean? They outsource glass, and components from all over the world, some rings and bases they buy, and some Golden Ring binocs were if memory serves me, made in Japan. Wind Rivers are outsourced.I had a RCA tv, "made in the USA" sticker on it. Factory repairman had to come fix it shortly after getting it. Saw "made in Poland" on the picture tube, and "made in Japan" on the electronic chassis.Repair man said it was "made" (assembled) in the US, just using components from other countries. While Leupold makes good to very good products, they are the best in their own minds, and no question they are the very best marketers-spin makers to the public. I wish they were " more correct" to put it nicely in their advertising. However, the VXI/II is definately an improvement over the "old" model. They have been losing market share to Burris, and Nikon, who built better scopes at those price points. Competition is good.
