Colt 45 HP Officers barrel

Can anyone help me figger this one out. I have had this barrel for to many years and have asked many different people at gun shows. This barrel won't let a standard 45 ACP round drop in fully into the chamber, just a little to high. The question is, What is this barrel for? gra198@aol.comGrantsweldThanks

    Is it because the outside of the "flared barrel" hits the slide, or because of the internal size of chamber? I have a colt officer's (see "lost colt" in general discussion) and hope to have it for years. Any dimensions you want to compare with mine, hollar at me on general discussion board and i will get back to you when I get home. Sandman2234
