OK, just a thought, a muzzle loading 50 bmg.A 50 bmg barrel converted into a muzzle loader using whatever powder the 50 uses and insert a 50 with a wad of some kind and kerpow. Would the breach hold up, even under a lighter load?

NO. DON'T.Any pressures approximating smokeless powder pressures will be VERY exciting with an open hole in front of your face (the nipple is open to allow the flame from the cap to enter the barrel and ignite the powder)!Yes, Savage HAS made a muzzleloader that can take smokeless powder, but it is engineered to contain the flashback. This is the only .50 cal. rifle that you can use smokeless powder in!If you had a sealed breech and maybe some kind of electronic ignition, well you'd have a .50 inch cannon.Nice thought, but please don't try it (unless you plan to send it to Osama Bin L.)

Do you think you could shoot a 50 bmg bullet out of the savage rifle?
