I AM PLANNING ON BUYING THIS MODEL RIFLE AND WOULD LIKE TO HAVE IT IN A 25-06. BUT I DONT THINK THAT SAVAGE MAKES IT IN THIS CALIBER. COULD ANYONE RECOMMEND ANOTHER CALIBER FOR HUNTING WHITETAIL IN TENNESSEE WITH SIMILAR BALLISTICS.

Why not a .270 Win.? The .25-06 uses light bullets at high velocity, but if you use the 100 gr. bullet in the .270 the velocity is almost identical. Then you'll also have the option of using heavier bullets than the .25-06 will shoot at velocities that are still very respectable. Perhaps in the future you'll want to shoot something other than whitetails, and the .270 will still work for you under those circumstances.

The .270 is available in that exact model rifle. Savage does chamber .25-06 in the Model 112FVSS, which is a stainless/synthetic rifle also.
