M1A Bipod- Harris or M2?

Decided to get a bipod for my M1A. The M2 is the traditional choice, but the Harris looks a bit more modern design wise, and is about $30 bucks cheaper.I'm not going for historical accuracy, just want a sturdy bipod for steady shooting. Also on the Harris, do I have to install some kind of mount in my stock or does it use the hole I find in both my fiberglass stocks?

Don't know which one you want, but if you want a Harris 13-25", I have one for 55.00+shipping.

Look at a Versa-Pod with metal feet, looks good on the M1A...Dillon sells them.

Don't use the M2It attaches to the gas cylinder and screws up accuracy.Attach an adapter to the front stock drain hole and use a Harris or Versapod.cpermd[This message has been edited by cpermd (edited 01-17-2002).]

To mount my harris on my M1A I used #5 adapter, cut off the kidney slots leaving just a rectangler plate, with a dremmil I ever so slightly recessed the inside of the stock at the drain hole, using the remaining plate and stud as a template so the plate would not contact the gas cylinder and the stud protrudes enough to mount the bipod.
