Hi Guys, I have narrowed it down to these two guns, but I'm having a tough time making a decision. They both seem like excellent rifles (for Minnesota whitetails)but I can't decide on which one. Any opinions on either would be of great help. Thanks guys!!Perry

I had a new ruger sold it, Then I found on old model liked it better. A friend bought a browning, I sold the old ruger and bought a browning. Here's what I believe are some great point about a Browning A-bolt. 30 degree bolt throw dosen't even come close to hitting the scope.

What the heck happened there? Detachable magazine loading and unloading is a breeze. Tang safety talk about nice. If by chance the day comes and you want something different, resale. Get what ever caliber you want but you won't be sorry you got a Browning.

The only thing that surprised me about Browning was that they are made in Japan. I like both Ruger & Browning. I would choose Ruger if pushed to pick one over the other. The general fit & finish of Ruger guns seems to be better too. RG

I prefer the ruger over the browning, thats my opinion I have a ruger in 6mm that will shoot with anything that browning produces. And its American Made. That being said why isn't a Remington in the mix.

I spent several weeks researching the same thing. I ended up with the Browning A bolt stainless stalker in .260 Remington. What a great choice. I suggest you get a copy of the May 2001 Guntests magazine article on this very subject. It rated the Browning a 'buy' and the Ruger a 'don't buy'. This particular test was on the .308 Good luck
