browning white gold medallion

I just picked up a "new to me" Browning White Gold Medallion in .270. The seller told me that it had 5 rounds fired through it and I believe it. The bore and muzzle are sharp and clean. It came with a almost new silver Leupold Vari X-III 3.5x10x50 scope. The rifle was manufactured in 1999, so it's not very old and is still being manufactured. The stock has a few scuffs, but no nicks or deep scratches. I'd say the stock is about 90%, while everything else on it is just about perfect. My question is does anyone think this rifle will have any collector value somewhere down the road? I am thinking about having the stock refinished, since a new stock will cost about $600 from Browning or Brownell's. I'm worried that refinishing the stock will take the "collector" value out of it, if it will have any. It's not going to stay in the safe and will be used for hunting, so this isn't a decision I'm going to make right away. Just looking for some opinions for later on. Thanks.

My question would be, can the refinishing person create the perfect, shiny finish that browning does? If not, a Browning collector will know right away. If he can do the same finish, get it done while the gun is still new and 20 yrs from now no-one will be the wiser. That gun should be worth some cash in the future, they are high priced guns which probably won't sell nearly as much as standard grades. This will make them more rare, and therefore, more valuable.
