The original is Excellent in the accuracy dept. as well as ergonomics. I would imagine the stainless would be a nice touch.

Love the idea of an all steel P220. When they offer it in the Nitron finish, I'll buy.

They do make it in Nitron finish. They also have the 226 in all stainless nitron.

Aren't all SIGs stainless? Every one I have seen is stainless, even though they are coated with nitron or k-kote. They say stainless right on the slide. Are there non-ss guns?

The "stainless" is only stamped on the slide, the frames are aluminum. The new stainless P220 is all stainless steel but I've not seen anywhere (even on SIG's website) that they are offering the P220 in all stainless with the black Nitron finish.110, if you know of a link that shows a black P220 in all steel, please post it; I'd like to check it out.

Blockey, I know the 2001 catalog doesn't has the 220 stainless in nitron . I handled a 226 in stainless with the nitron finish last night, very inpressive. I have the 2002 catalog on CD-ROM but have yet to look at it. Your best bet is to contact the factory and get request a product catalog www.sigarms.com. The 220 SS is new for 2001 so there are not a lot of specs they have readily availible. Some times these guns are in their testing phases which the 220 SS is as well as the 226 SS I think. I'll find out tonight when I'm there and get back to you.
