Greenlantern.....It's not a bad deal but by no means a great deal. The CMP sells Lake City Match(M852) 168 grain BTHP(the best match ammo in the land) for $207 for 460 rounds plus about $25 shipping. That is without question the best price for the best ammo available. You can buy it during the National Matches at Camp Perry. Last year though it was in limited supply and during one week I think they only came up with about 6 or 8 cans. In the past it has been fairly plentiful but it may be drying up. Currently there is none for sale at the CMP but that may change in July. I think a big mistake that a lot of guys initially make is using the match ammo for the 200 yard line. Unless you are shooting High Master or Master scores you can get by easily at 200 yards with straight military ball ammo. Use the Match stuff on the long line and save yourself a little money. When ALL of your shots are in the 9 ring or better then you should think about using the match ammo at 200. I've cleaned 200 Rapid with ball ammo(I will admit I didn't have a single X. It was the strangest most bizarre score I've ever had). In any case the CMP is out of M852 right now. You need to check every week or so, but I really think they save it for the shooters who come to Perry during the Nationals. I bought several cans last year and if you are truly desperate I'd sell you a can but look around first and see if you can't find some at a local gun show. It should sell for between $11.50 and $12.50 per 20 round carton. Also don't pass up any Lake City 173 grain BTSP "long range" match ammo if you can find that. It too is very very good and superbly accurate especially at longer ranges. Hope this helps, Beach.

Earlier this month I bought a case (500 rounds) of 168 grain Federal Gold Medal Match ammo for $324 at Hoplite ... I think thats the best bang for your buck around for match grade ammo ... IMHO of course!
