Fluted 22 Mag cylinder for Ruger?

I just got a Ruger 3 screw Single Six. The serial number has a 20- Prefix. It is not marked magnum anywhere, but it is. The cylinder is Fluted and is chambered for 22 Mag. Did Ruger make a Fluted 22 Mag cylinder? Did someone rechamber the 22 LR cylinder? Is it a replacement cylinder?Roy

Can't answer most of your questions but my Ruger Super Single Six, three screw has a fluted Mag cylinder. I bought it new in 1971.

Old model 22 mag cylinders were fluted, and early new model cylinders were too.I have a 22 mag only single six that was made in 1961 with a fluted cyl,and my wifes new model super single six convertible that was made in 1973 has a 22 mag fluted cyl.Dead Horse Walking

Thanks for all the responses. The gun is not marked 22 Mag, so I'm guessing it might have been a convertible and the LR cylinder got lost.
