Fork out the $540 and enjoy the finest combat/duty/personal defense handgun in the world, you will wonder why you ever settled on anything else. Just my honest opinion, and by the way thats a pretty good price for a used 229, I usually see them for $600 and up...

ive got one, youll love it. bought mine in late 95. back then they were made completely in germany, today, i think a lot of it is made here with only some of the parts made in germany (someone correct me if im wrong) quality on the newer ones seems to be just as good as the older ones. ive shot and owned both, cant tell em apart. around here (denver) i see the new ones going for 750 plus, used police trade ins for around the 550 mark but they do look rough. nice condition used ones are still going for about 625 and up.
