Has anyone here ever fired or owned a hi-point 9mm carbine. they seem like a good deal and they have a factory lifetime warranty. I wanted a gun at used the same ammo as my beretta.

Thier fun guns to plink with I bought mine with the red dot scope for $150. I've had problems with some hollow points. I also have a couple 30rnd mags that work ok with it. I wouldn't bet my life on it, but they are great fun to plink with, and are alot cheaper than any othe 9mm rifle.

I forgot to see to that the factory told me that they were planning to come out with both 40 and 45acp rifles.

I owned one of these when they first came out. That was a mistake. Alot of quality control issues. Front sight would fall off, magazines would not stay in. Since then they seem to function well. I sold mine. For the price a nice plinker but thats all it is. My 2 cents

The word High Point in Latin means "dangerous garbage" Do not consider buying unless you are on welfare. If your gonna be stupid you better be tough!

I think i will pass on the hi point. I have heard too many negitive things about it. I also guess i need to learn that u pay for what u get. Now if i could just make up my mind on getting an other 9mm handgun or a 45acp. too many choices

Hey 1022man ... Where did you get 30rd clip for the Hi-point ? I was under the assumption they never made any hi-caps for these critters.

Heard too many bad things about it? How many people do you know that own one? I've known several and all have reported flawless function after thousands of rounds. Check out the most recent issue of Gun Tests magazine. The Hi-Point 9mm Carbine outperformed the Ruger PC9 Carbine (which costs more than twice as much as the Hi-Point) in trigger pull and accuracy with all loads tested (Winchester FMJ, Win FMJ subsonic, PMC Starfire, and Black Hills JHP+P). I wouldn't be so quick as to dismiss this rifle. I've heard nothing but praise from owners.Note: The early models tested by Gun Tests Magazine (in 1997) were worthless. The current production Hi-Point 9mm Carbine is a complete 180-degree difference.[This message has been edited by idsman75 (edited 01-26-2002).]

Well maybe i will think about it a little more because the people who i know all bought them when they first came out. If quality has gone up i might consider one. If they did better then Ruger i will get one for sure because i was thinking about a ruger as a replacment. Thanks again

We have sold a ton of Hi-Points and have never had a negative comment on one. They are surprisingly accurate and seem to be able to shoot any type of ammo. I highly recommend them. I was under the impression that 10 rnd mags were the only thing available for the m though. Ive never seen any larger ones. For the price you cant go wrong !!!

Like MFI said, for the price you can't go wrong. I've shot a couple thousand rounds through mine without a problem, and I know several other folks that have them and like them. It's a good, accurate little plinking gun. Hi Point handguns are crap, but the carbine is a pretty decent gun for the price.
