I have a #1 manufactured in 1984. It is 1 of 43 Total Production. Ruger was experimenting with their own etching. When this experiment was abandoned, this rifle was lost in the warehouse until 98. I have a letter from Ruger stating the above. I have no idea of its current value. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

According to the Standared Catalog of Firearms, there were many non prefixed unique rifles made. An example is a 1 of 21 "Writers Club" that is worth $3000 to $5000. I guess it depends on the inlay and etching. What caliber is it? OH RUGERNUT...RUGERNUT, where are you boy???GOOD LUCK!!

It is a 30-06. Both sides of the receiver are extensively engraved as well as leather sling. The serial # on gun and box is 132-68xxx. Also, 1-A/Etch-A. The letter from Ruger states 1 of 43 total production.
