Browning A-5

I have a Belgium Browning A-5 with serial number 7xxx. According to the Browning site this gun was part of the ORIGINAL 10,000 ordered by Browning in 1903. I can believe it. I have never seen one even close to it. Unfortunately time and various owners have not been good to the old girl. The wood is NOT original and some of the internal parts are missing. I have 30 yrs experience restoring doubles but "0" with the Autos. Where can I find early era parts for this piece of history? Failing in that where can I get the spec. drawings for the parts so I can make them in my shop. Any ideas will help. Even pictures of the prewar, World War I models would help. The upper and lower tang appear to have been on a straight grip stock!! I'll make the stock if I can see what one looks like. Some of you collectors PLEASE HELP me.

My father is looking to sell his 60's model Belgian Browning A-5. It's in good condition and everything's original. We were told that it lists between 600-$800. Does that sound about right?

Is there any chance of using a 20 guage barrel in a 16 guage frame? Did Browning make different size frames, or were all the same?

A friend just bought an A-5; it does't eject shells. By the serial numbers, it seems that the barrel is a "standard weight" s/n 4Hxxxx, but the gun is a "light twelve", s/n 8Gxxxx. It came with a brass spacer that says 3" magnum on it and a slug barrel for a 3" magnum. The forearm is after market. I know you can't use the 3" slug barrel on a 2 3/4" gun. I bought the slug barrel from him, where would I get info on friction ring placement, if I was to use the slug barrel on my 3" magnum? Thanks.

So, a slug is considered heavy? Makes sense, however, this did not address where the brass spacer goes, if at all. It is not a friction ring, it is a solid brass ring. I still have not seen anything specifically on a slug barrel, does it exist? My original question was/should have been, on the standard barrel vs light twelve, is this combination compatible?

I have a 20 ga. A-5 passed down from my granddad and I'm trying to find out some info re: date & place of manufacture, approx. worth, etc. The serial # does not fit the patterns posted on Browning's website. This one is "OZ 3758x" and is stamped on the underside of the receiver in front of the loading port. Any knowledge you could pass along would be appreciated.

Could someone help me with the serial number of a Browning A-5?
The owner says it was made in 1935. The serial # is 7M 16330. This is located under the bottom of the reciever at the front.

    Thanks

How can I determine the choke setting of my old a-5's barrel. It is a 1968 20 gauge (#68Z28165). It has a vented rib and no indication on the barrel. I think most are "full". but how can I tell?
