    I bought one from a hungry kid this fall. I have heard good reports on them. There was a report on Taurus a couple of months ago in American Rifleman and they gave Taurus's products a pretty good review. Mine shoots fine and is heavy enough to reduce recoil well but all things being equal I like the way my 6" S&W model 27 feels and shoots better. But if anyone is counting shots you may have an advantage with an 8 shooter.

    Gun Test Magazine recomended a No Buy on the Taurus 357, not sure which model.

    I bought one new, traded it for a ruger 77/44. Mine had problems, I would say a no go on the 608!
