price check on Winchester 94 44mag

I have a Winchester 94 saddle-ring-carbine (20") chambered in 44 mag that was manufactured in 1969-70. It has been shot very little (less than 100 rounds)and is in excellent condition. It does not have the "dreaded" cross-bolt safety. There's only a few tiny scratches on the loading gate and all the gun's blueing is superb. The wood is excellent but it has a sling swivel installed on the buttstock.

I want to post it for sale but am not sure of a fair asking price. I've been told that since it is a very early post-'64 .44 mag in excellent condition, I should start the price around $375-400.

Does that seem right? Are cowboy action shooters snatching these up?
Are these desirable at all?

Thank you.

PRICES FOR THE PRE SAFETY GUNS HAVE DROPPED SINCE WINCHESTER HAS STARTED MAKING THE SLIDE TANG SAFETY. PRICE YOUR GUN WITH NO RESERVE AND SEE WHERE THE MARKET REALLY IS. GOOD LUCK.

I WOULD RATHER BE DUCK HUNTING.

duckhunter is right - don't count on CAS shooters for much, they don't seem to favor winchester as their first choice & 44mag is not a popular cal - but i think you got a great ole rifle if that helps- luck to ya
