Hi Folks,
I have a Remington "New Line Revolver No.4" "Smoot" revolver belonging to my wife's great grandfather. Since we are in our 60's and no kids to pass this onto I'm looking for a possible value of this revolver and holster. From what I have researched the gun was made from around 1879 to 1888.

I have pictures at:

If this link does not work I'll try something else. I'm not a gun collector nor a gun dealer.

Thanks for any help in advance,

Chuck Porter

Nice little revolver. What caliber? .38 or .41? Rimfire or centerfire? Are the barrel markings clear?

Satdealer just e-mailed me and said it's a .38 rimfire. Although ammo would be difficult to find, it's an antique so can be shipped directly to the buyer with some state or local exceptions like New Jersey & NY City.

It appears to be factory nickel plated with ivory grips. Along with the holster, I would expect it to bring in the $350-$400 range.
