CAN SOMEONE CLARIFY THE ATF REGS ON THE CALIBER BEING STAMPED ON A GUN AND WHAT GUNS , AND IF ALL GUNS ARE UNDER THE REGS IF THERE ARE TRULY REGS ON CALIBER BEING STAMPED .. IS IT LEGAL TO SELL AND TRANSFER A GUN WITH NO CALIBER STAMPED ON THE BARREL ,THE BARREL IS WHERE I WOULD THINK IT WOULD HAVE TO BE STAMPED TO PREVENT CONFUSION AS TO CALIBER ...
I ONCE HAD A GUNSMITH TRANSFER AGUN FOR ME THAT HAD NO CALIBER ON THE BARREL AND HE REFUSED TO TRANSFER IT WITHOUT STAMPING THE BARREL , SAID IT WAS ATF ILLEGAL TO TRANSFER WITH NO STAMP... DOES BLACK POWDER FALL UNDER THESE REGS AS TO CALIBER STAMPING ...

WELCOME TO THE FORUM![:)]
I've got multiple guns with no caliber marking on the barrel; all bought legally through FFL transfer.
In fact, since the RECEIVER is what is legally considered the gun, its perfectly fine to buy and sell "guns" with NO BARREL AT ALL!
For instance, if you manufacture AR 15 receivers, you can put "multi" on the receiver.
If you make one of those receivers into an SBR, you must engrave a caliber...or a host of calibers, that you wish to operate that firearm in.
Makes no sense, I know.
