Winchester Reloading Tool

Hello,

I recently came across a Winchester reloading tool of my grandfathers. Mod.1894 for 38-55. How many parts were involved with this tool? I have the main tool and the 38-55 die? But what was used to deprime?

Thanks for your interest and knowledge.

Karen

It came with a separate decapping pin which was easily lost. Most of the Winchester, Ideal, and other such loading tools will be found today with the decapping pins missing.

You can find original pins from time to time, and reproductions have been made as well.

If you need a picture of the pin, let me know.

    Thank you Johnny,

Yes, I would enjoy a picture. nerak@worldpath.net It just might be in this group of gun stuff I have come across. I wish [8D]

Is there any website that might give detailed info on the use of the tool?

    Thank you again

Here's some info from Winchester's 1909 catalog on the
Model 1894 tool. I don't have any Winchester decapping
pins handy, but I do have a couple of pins from an Ideal
reloading tool. The Winchester pins will look similar as
    those here.

    Best,

    Johnny

    Hello Johnny,

You are special...Thank you so much for the info.

I don't have any 38-55 in my collection so as to sell it I am not sure. I have had a great time going through all this stuff. Old loaded ammo, 44-40,30-30, 38-55 etc. Old head stamps is what I am looking for as well as the decapping pin.[8D]

I am glad to finally join this forum after years of buying on GB. I am learning so much from all of you.[:)]

    Thank you again,
