Enfield No 4 Mk 1 decoding

Hello:
I am looking for just a little assistance decoding the heritage of my Enfield No4 Mk 1. I have done some research but am unsure about a couple things. I know it was manufactured by Stevens Savage in 1942. Mostly I am curious about the markings on the receiver.
There is a "U" with an arrow point in the middle

It appears to have been marked by "IAC Alex VA " in electro pencil. I know this is for the importer Interarms....but any idea when this rifle may have been brought back to the US by this firm?

The receiver marking denotes WW II use by South Africa.

Interarms was in business, from the early 60's until the late 90's. Kind of hard, to pin it don't specifically. Because of the large type of "bill board" importers markings. My guess it would have been in the 90's?

Thank you for that information, sir. This will point me the right direction to do some additional research.
I am always curious about interpreting the markings in these rifles. I am amazed by the journey they took...manufactured in Chicopee, Mass in 1942..shipped to Europe? for possible use in World War Two. Then somewhere along the line sent to the Commonwealth nation of South Africa afterwards, only to be re-imported back to the U.S. in the 1990's and ending up in my gun safe in Pittsburgh.
