Colt SAA Firing pin

Im reading the pocket blue book on Colts. It says that Colt started using the Floating firing pin around 60,000 on the 2nd Gen guns. But I have earlier guns with the same pin. I think.

When did they change to the floating pin and did they change something else in latter 2nd gen guns.
