I have a Winchester Mdl 70 in 250/3000, firdst year of production.

Got a Christmas present today of a new in the box Stith mount for the Md;l 70 and a Weaver 330 scope. This is a non drill and tap mount. As it should be.

Not sure where the brother came up with them. How common are they, and were they used at the time

Thanks....Chip

According to Stroebels book, the Stith mount dates to the 50's. And the Weaver Scope, was made between 1930 & 1947.

You have a wonderful brother. To find them today in new condition, is unheard of. Likely cost him a couple/3 hundred at least.

I was afraid of that, now I owe him. Have to see what I can come up with.
