Winchester Model 70 "Classic SM" DOM

I'm looking for approximate date of manufacture for a New Haven-produced Winchester Model 70 with controlled round feed chambered in 375 H&H Magnum. The gun's metal has a flat blue-black finish and the stock is a factory original black plastic affair. Marked on the bolt handle side of the barrel just above the forearm checkering, is the phrase "-Classic SM-". Classic should refer to the CRF action. I believe SM stands for Synthetic Mat...synthetic meaning a man-made stock; mat meaning a dull finish on all metal. Serial number is G631XX. Again, I'd appreciate any help with a DOM and would also like to know where DOM fell in relation to Winchester shuttering its New Haven factory.

Oh, one other thing, was this style produced in conjunction with the African style Model 70 or did it replace the African?

Of note, I was doing some additional Internet research and found another fella on another site asking the same question about his identical 375 H&H Model 70. Both his gun and mine have G+5-digit serial numbers, which really seems to be throwing everyone off. Any help?
