REMINGTON 572 BDL?

Thinking of buying my son a Remington 572 BDL .22 lr for christmas he is 8.Are these .22s any good?Or should i buy him a ruger or marlin?Thanks

    There are going to be a bunch of folks saying buy the 10/22 Ruger, and they have a valid point.However, the 572BDL is nicer looking, slimmer, balances better, and shoots Shorts and Long Rifles interchangeably.You pays your money and you makes your choices.

    Got three 10/22`s. Love `em to death. Can`t wait for the day I can find the Remington for the right price!

    Do not forget the M552 Speedmaster semi-automatic. It shoots shorts, longs and long rifles interchangably. I still have my 552 I got in the 1950s when shorts actually cost a lot less than long rifles. If the light was right, you could see the short bullet in flight.
